From “May It Be So: Forty Days with the Lord’s Prayer” by Justin McRoberts and Scott Erickson:

“‘This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.’ (Matthew 6:9-13)

Pause here and consider making an actual list of the projects and people that will make up this day. Consider making a second list of the things you’re concerned about but can’t do anything about right now. What is right in front of you today? Can that be enough? Who is right in front of you today? Are they enough? Is today’s bread enough for you?”
